My life is usually busy and chaotic, I am not even sure where I would begin to find time to workout and eat healthier!! ⠀ ⠀ SOUND FAMILIAR?!?⠀ ⠀ Trust me, I understand. ⠀ ⠀ I have two tweens that were born 15 months apart. I work full time and pre Rona it was outside of the house... At one point my commute was 1.5 hrs EACH way 🥱 ⠀ ⠀ The urge to skip my workout and HUSTLE through the morning was tempting. ⠀ ⠀ The urge to skip meals and grab food on the go seemed like a logical sacrifice. ⠀ ⠀ Burning the candle at both ends by reacting to my day vs being in control of my boundaries felt like being a good leader. ⠀ ⠀ But thank GOODNESS I listened to my mentors. ⠀ From the day I launched my biz, the #1 priority was making sure I took care of my health. ⠀ ⠀ So what does that look like as a busy mom running a home with wild kids and a business start up? ⠀ ⠀ 1️⃣ Setting the alarm for an hour earlier than the rest of the house wakes up!⠀ ⠀ Sitting quietly and setting my intentions for the day, reading, gratitude and then moving my body for at least 20-30 min. ⠀ ⠀ Showering (most days ) and being ready for the day!⠀ Even if I am not leaving the house. ⠀ ⠀ 2️⃣ Set a timer to remind yourself to eat! ⠀ If you tend to skip meals set it for every 3 hours to get a snack or meal. ⠀ Use weekends and evenings to prep for the days when ur extra busy. ⠀ ⠀ 5️⃣Rest! You can’t run hard in life if you don’t rest. ⠀ Rest makes you more creative, innovative, patient and joyful! What do you do each day to recharge? Read, take a walk or meditate?⠀ ⠀ But you have time for you! it’s all about choices and if we choose right we can find the coexistence between mom, career, health and relationships!!! ⠀ ⠀

Ok so after 2 c-sections🤰🏼🤰🏼15 months a part and a whole lot of post baby weight / years of not taking care of myself I have up until now been unable to take it / keep it off when it comes to my weight. I never really took the time to invest in myself once I became a mom and now throw in kids activities (football, dance school, dance competition, basketball, friends ect ), full-time job, fur babies and household duties I have been literally drowning!!! . 🤦🏼♀️ I was eating the kids leftover chicken nuggets, snacking on their goldfish, chips and whatever. . Hitting up McDonalds for a quick hamburgers and fries 🍔🍟 . I know so unhealthy but it was my reality!! No wonder I've had problems taking and keeping the weight off right!?! And let's add to it that I constantly lacked energy. ⚡️ . So when I decided to make a change IT WAS TIME!!! I try to plan and prep all my meals, but sometimes being a busy Mama life gets in the way💯 . BUT when life happens ☝️ I'm so SO glad I've decided to INVEST in myself and my health with my superfoods. . So now right away everyday I have 1 meal each day that could be ready in less than 5 minutes and it keeps me full for a few hours which let's face it is HUGE! . Monday’s ⠀ ⠀ Most people hate Monday’s. Why?⠀ ⠀ Usually it’s back to another work week or another week that they dread. Why do we dread them? ⠀ ⠀ It’s because we allow so many weeks to go by and we never change the things that make us unhappy. We work a job that we hate or we eat the foods that make us feel horrible. ⠀ ⠀ Each Monday is a reminder that we still haven’t changed. ⠀ ⠀ Not my Monday’s! I see it as a fresh start. Another week to hit new goals. Another week to help touch more lives. Another week I get to push closer to my own goals. ⠀ ⠀ This is how I view Monday’s!! ⠀ ⠀ Today I started this Monday with a new opportunity. A new program. Today we should be shutting down Bourbon Street in NOLA working out with 20k of our closest friends 👯♀️ after a team party last night giving out super cute awards. 💃🏼. I got most likely to move down south and become a redneck 🤣🤣🤣 Our team totally killed it this past year, but next year? ST LOUIS BABY! And we will celebrate double time because...QUARANTINE!
It was 7 am this morning when this picture was taken and I've already been awake and working my business for 30 minutes while everyone else in my house sleeps.... I have reached out to new connections, helped others start on their healthy and fitness journey and checked in with my babes who are already killing it.... I have goals 💪 I'm over the 1 - 2% pay raises I may or may not get each year over here in corporate world. Or even better being told this year there will be NO raises 🤯 I'm over leaving my pay worth in the hands of someone else left deciding if my hard work and lack of time with my family was deemed good enough... I'm over asking for days off and being told NO vacation time at all is to be used the month if August⁉️ I'm taking back control! I have hopes and dreams and goals!!! I'm going to decide what my paycheck is going to be. I'm going to take vacation time when I want to! It's gonna take work but girl I'm going to get there ❤️
Dehydration can be sneaky (and dangerous! ) Some quick signs you might be dehydrated: You have bad breath! ☠ We create less fluid when we're dehydrated. Saliva is antibacterial, and when there is less of it, well... you guessed it. More bacteria can develop, which means... ew. 🤢 (Think of morning breath! Saliva production stops while we sleep! ) Sugar cravings! 🍟🍩Dehydration sometimes shows up as hunger. When our fluid is low, your body pulls from its glycogen storage for energy. When THAT gets depleted, we start craving things like carbs to get it back up again. #sneakysneaky !! I start every morning by chugging a 20 oz cup full of water.... Sometimes I'll even mix in a splash of lemon juice. It jump-starts the system and gets things hydrated quickly! How's your hydration game?
Hmm, let's see... I've saved mega $$$, lots of time, been able to wear whatever I want (workout in just sports bra and underwear? You bet! ), blast my music as LOUD as I can, and workout whatever time of day I want.. all because I've cracked the code on doing it from home. 😉 It's the little things, right?? There are some things I LOVE to get out of the house for, but workouts aren't one of them!!!!! So here are my fav at-home workout tips that keep me pushing myself: MUSIC. 🎶 💪Find your "power hour or half hour." (The time of day you can consistently set aside! My workouts are ALWAYS under an hour, but I leave extra time afterward to STRETCH!! ) it's what I do 🤷♀️ Did I mention MUSIC? 🎶🎶🎶 Sprinkle the right accountability on top and you have a recipe that you're never gonna stray from!! (I know I won't! )👯 So here's the REAL important question... who else has worked out at home in their underwear? 👇👇

I used to think that those before and after photos were photoshopped.⠀💯 ⠀ I used to think working out at home was weird.⠀ ⠀ I used to think that the only way to get results was to pay for a personal trainer & a nutritionist.⠀ ⠀ I used to think that my body was never going to change.⠀ ⠀ I used to eat low fat, fat free, 100 calorie packs, smart ones meals and call that a “healthy diet”.⠀ ⠀ I used to live in the yo-yo diet mentality.⠀ ⠀ Everything changed because I was ready to make a change!⠀ ⠀ ✔️I was ready to chuck the excuses.⠀⠀ ✔️I was ready to stop my dieting roller coaster.⠀ ✔️I was ready to stop making excuses for why I didn’t have the time and make the time.⠀ ✔️I was ready to start having more energy and feeling confident in my skin.⠀ ⠀ Skeptical… YES but at rock bottom… ALSO YES!⠀ ⠀ I show up every day and press play and push myself as hard as I can.⠀ Slowly but surely the weight is starting to come off.⠀ ⠀ I realized that I didn’t need to diet, I needed to be mindful of what I was choosing.⠀ ⠀ ⠀Showing up every day has helped me see that: ✨These at home workouts have kept me accountable during some really difficult times in my life.⠀ ✨These at home workouts are my stress relief when life feels heavy.⠀ ✨These at home workouts are MY time to just leave it all on the floor.⠀ ⠀ ⠀ I show up every day for myself and for the example I can be to others about how to live a healthy lifestyle that doesn’t make you feel deprived but empowered!⠀ ⠀ I believe that what you put into your body is what you get out!⠀ Lets raise the bar, raise our energy level and raise our confidence this summer!⠀ ⠀ You in? 👇
How did I let myself go? That was the phrase I spoke to myself when I first took my before photos. I cried at how out of shape I was. I cried because I knew that losing the weight was going to be hard. I cried because I couldn’t stand the body staring back at me. As scared as I was about the journey I was about to embark on, I was more afraid of staying the same than I was about the pain of the change!! 💯🎤👊🏻 I legit died my first week of workouts. I was sore, I was detoxing and it all sucked. The only reason I didn’t quit was because I had all the other women who were in my online community with me cheering me on. My coach checking in on me... Their support and their constant inspiration along with seeing their success stories inspired me to push through the hard and ALL the suck! Little by little the weight came off and I started to see a change. Nutrition completely revamped More energy to keep up with my kids Clearer skin Stronger body And a positive new me!!! BUT, if you have a goal of specifically LOSING WEIGHT… You just can’t out-train an unhealthy diet. 🤷 Losing weight is simple! (**Doesn’t mean it’s EASY… ) When it comes right down to it, discipline MATTERS. The good news is that we can still satisfy our cravings and actually EAT till we’re FULL while losing weight! Calories totally aren’t created equally. (this is why the “point” system doesn’t ALWAYS work! Just because an extra large order of McDonald’s fries is only 25 points doesn’t mean you’ve fueled your body with what it needs for that day! )🔥 One example: Science says to eat whole eggs (not just the whites! Almost all the nutrients are found in the yolks, and they actually help LOWER bad cholesterol, unlike old ads used to say! ) 😍 (I love my fried eggs!!! ) If you’re trying to burn fat, you’ll want to build muscle as the more muscle you have, the more your body will burn calories at rest. To build muscle, you need the right amount of protein, seriously good nutrition and to workout. Some people live for the weekend...others live for the start of the week #AmIRight ? I’ve learned to love a fresh start. There once was a time when I was on team #weekends but I have learned to leave those days behind because I love the feeling of progress! But those days were hurting my health, not helping it 🙅as I would get anxious waiting for that Monday alarm clock to ring. Now, I’ve learned to love MONDAYS. I build in extra time to go for a walk outside instead of just sliding into another week. What do you do on Mondays to make them great? 👇

While things are starting to open back up, it may feel like it’s time to get back into a routine! 🍦🍕🍔 Getting back into a routine is totally doable! It’s important to start with baby steps. Even if before the coronavirus hit and you were in great shape and working out daily, you have to take baby steps. Your body needs time to get back into the rhythm of working out and eating healthy! Start by intentionally having one extra healthy meal every day. Whether it’s a protein shake in the morning or a salad for lunch-- pick one thing and stick to it for a week before upping the ante!
