Taking on Aloy’s fear of stairs one step at a time. Three steps is her current limit 😂
I have a lot of respect for those who can maintain a sustainable vegan lifestyle. I tried it myself for 8 months, and though I got a lot of benefit from it, it just wasn’t for me in the long run. After some soul searching I realized my main motivations for attempting veganism was I hated how industrially farmed animals were treated and the toll taken on the environment as a result. Reducing the demand is one way to make a difference - but changing the demand is just as impactful. This is not sponsored content, just sharing with you one way I found to maintain an interdependent relationship with the animals we eat. Interdependent because we’re helping them as much as they’re helping us. Axis deer were introduced to the Hawaiian islands and have no natural predators. The land cannot sustain their unchecked numbers, without maintenance the axis deer will starve while local wildlife suffer. Check out @mauinuivenison and their solution to multiple problems, protecting the islands while providing sustainably sourced meat in the most humane way possible.
Another beautiful morning at @browseyacres ☀️ 🦆 🐥 🐶
What started as 5 cloves from some old garlic is now 19 cloves of new garlic - cost zero dollars and almost zero effort 🙏🏼❤️🌱💵 #grocerygarden
We got 7 milkweed in pots last year, didn’t think it was much but - the monarchs came, laid eggs, and their caterpillars are here! Monarch populations are plummeting and how much of a difference just a few plants have made has inspired me to work towards making @browseyacres a monarch waystation! Follow @browseyacres to watch our progress towards being part of the solution 🙏🏼❤️🐛🦋
Check the link in my bio for the @browseyacres @miraclegrow #victorygarden update! What started as just a few groceries going bad going into the ground to hold us over while the front yard garden is getting a makeover has turned into little corner of produce paradise on a slope we thought wasn’t usable. Check the link in bio for ideas on how to make empty space save money on groceries!
2 of the 3 chicks who hatched with mushy chick disease are still hanging in there and looking better every day🤞🏼the white one has been dealing with some crusty butt but thanks to the recommendations of our @browseyacres followers we’ve been adding supplements to their water and it’s really been helping - thanks guys! 🙏🏼🐥♥️Follow @browseyacres to hopefully watch these little guys make a full recovery and join our flock!

Check the link in my bio for great bread and terrible singing! In my compulsive prepper anticipation of global trade networks collapsing and fearing we won’t be able to have an infinite supply of rice - I made it my mission to learn how to make bread! In my quest I found a lot of extremely complicated tutorials on how to make sourdough - check the link in my bio for my super simplified version for you to make your own at home too!! (Tutorial on how to make your own sourdough starter to come! )
Unfortunately we had a soiled egg infect our latest hatchlings and they were born with mushy chick disease😩every day is a learning process and I learned the hard way to remove soiled eggs from the nest😭 follow @browseyacres for updates to see if these little guys fight through and defy the odds 🤞🏼🙏🏼🐣🐥❤️
Goomba and Fivehead are kinda over sitting on the nest during the day now. We lost a few chicks who we think just got too cold so we’ve been swooping up the latest three hatches and adding them to the store bought chicks so they can warm up in the brooder. It’s a chilly day today at @browseyacres (surprisingly ) so I’m warming this little guy up in a heat pack before introducing him/her to the mini-chick-flock. Follow @browseyacres for updates on how our hatchlings are doing 🐣🐥❤️
