"If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets."~ Murakami. Maybe that's where it comes down to. Having that "you" in our lives. Who keeps us sane, who lets us be ourselves, who knows we can be messed up and yet sticks around, who makes pitla bhakri so that we can taste a little bit of home where we grew up in the home we made ourselves. It took me 20 something summers to realize that there will always be something or someone better than what or whom you have in your life. A better book, a better house, a better degree, a better job, even a better person. But then, is it really about having the best in your life or having someone who makes you the best version of yourself? When Kavya met Raunak, the guy who is passionate about travelling and stories, the kind of a person who makes you feel things, I could sense the way Kavya felt. A sense of insecurity creeping up about Dhruv and their relationship and questions on whether they are losing the spark. Raunak and his interesting views on life and living made her take a peek at the prospect of finding someone better, like him, most probably. And my heart sank. I gasped at the possibility of letting go of a love which was not even mine to start with, but of some fictional characters. I wanted her to come back home to Dhruv and eat sandwiches at the middle of the night or solve life problems through mathematical equations or procrastinate and be couch potatoes together. And she did. Kavya came back home to all the love from Momo's kitchen. And when they talked about the prospect of finding better partners and confessed that the thought has crossed both of their minds, I realized that love needs not to be perfect. Not even my favourite reel life couple can be flawless. It just has to be love. In it's own way. [[CONTINUED IN COMMENT SECTION]]
