The Nine Chambered Heart " By JANICE PARIAT As a medical student, at my first glance to this book,I found the title of this book so Cool!!!🤩 as our heart has only 4 Chambers😅... After that when I go through the details about the book,Not only it's title, it's cover page and it's plot also fascinated me... This book is about a girl who was loved by 9 different people at her different stages of life. Basically it's book about a girl about whom,9 different persons had given their prospective about her. Some found that girl is very sweet in behavior .Some as moody. Some as Selfish. Some as caring!! "The one we pretend to ignore are the one's we are most aware of" This was a line in this book which compelled me to think that yeahh...it happens manytimes!!!!😅 . . . . . . . #bookstagram #books #booklover #book #bookworm #reading #bookstagrammer #bookish #bookaddict #booknerd #bibliophile #instabook #booksofinstagram #bookaholic #bookphotography #read #b #readersofinstagram #booklove #bookshelf #booksbooksbooks #instabooks #bookblogger #igreads #love #bookcommunity #booklovers #reader #bookreviewers

📚Book Review📚 "Rate a Date" by @monicamurphyauthor ~4⭐Rating~ Eleanor is one of the last single girls in her girl gang, pretty sure she has the worst luck with guys, so when her friend all but ropes her into joining a new dating app Elenor reluctantly agrees to give it a month trial run. Mitch is at the top of his game, killing it in the NFL livening his dream, his only problem being he is tired of meaningless one nightstands with groupies. Deciding to try his hand at online dating so that he can figure out if the girl likes him for him or for his money and fame. •• Elenor is surprised to find that she instantly hits it off with this Mitch guy that she has been chatting with, even more so it seem like fate that they cross paths seeing as they both come from the same area and are both going to be in Vegas in a few weeks. When the two finally meet in Vegas it is explosive, with our raw sexual chemistry, what was supposed to be just a weekend together soon turns into a long distance relationship. But everything goes to hell when Mitch's secret is exposed, will Elenor be able to forgive him for hiding his profession from her all this time? •• Rate A Date is a super steamy fast read. Mitch and Elenor have the hottest chemistry, it is pure fire. This is definitely a story of how opposites attract. Mitch is such an alpha hero that takes what he wants, I loved that he chased after Elenor after their fight. Elenor is such a cute and sweet character, I loved that she was so bold the first time she and Mitch meet, going after what she wanted instead of shying away from him. My only issue was that I felt like the story lacked a bit of dept only because Mitch and Elenor spent most of their tim in bed. •• This was a cute fast paced steamy read that can be read as a standalone, but I would recommend reading the rest of the series. #rateadate #monicamurphyauthor #bookblogger #booksarebetter #bookblog #booksofinstagram #booklover #booknerd #bookarc #bookaholic #bookish #bookcommunity #bibliophile #bibliophilelife #bookrecommendations #bookreviewers #bookrecs #readersofinsta #romanceblogger #romancereader #readingromance #romancereadersofinstagram #romcombooks #romancereviews

"Power lay in the brown swell of his forearms; authority sat on his shoulder and chattered in his ear like an ape." 📖 I've decided to give books I read in school a re-read because, realistically, I can't really remember them enough. Reading Golding's 'Lord of the Flies' (1954 ) only furthered that because it was completely different to how I had remembered it. 📖 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 📖 For those who have never read this classic/it isn't your genre/you read it at school and forgot, this book is about a plane the crashes on an unhibited island and leaves a group of schoolboys stranded. To begin with it's all fun and games and they try and create their own society, however as time goes on this fails and ultimately collapses. Is it the beast they see in the night that causes this? or is it by their own savagery? 📖 Fantastic read! Not a perfect book, but really great. Despite reading this in year 9, I essentially went into reading this blind. I knew that it was about boys on an island, but I had no idea that it would be quite as aggressive. I felt so bad for Piggy! He deserved much better treatment. I think this book really shows why having a civilised society is important because when we don't... there is just sin, everywhere! It really felt that as society collapsed, the innocence of the boys' hearts and minds did too. They had to become adults, quickly. I wish I could do a full-on essay about this book but if you decide to re-read this, definitely read between the lines and see what allegorical sense you can make of it. This book didn't grip me from the start but towards the end I couldn't put it down! It's definitely worth a read. 📖 "Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood!"

#bookstareviewweek Review No. 4 𝗽𝗹𝘂𝘀 𝗮 𝗙𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗛 𝗚𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗬 I am simply blown away. Dear Martin by Nic Stone is so raw and so powerful that no words will do it justice (no pun intended ). There is nothing I can say in this review that can accurately describe this 200+ page force of influential writing. Justyce, the main character, faces situations that are filled with prejudices, gaslighting and racism. These same situations have him stuck in between a rock and a hard place. He is basically staring down two different paths with two different lifestyles throughout the entire plot. To help sort through his feelings on how he should react and on the kind of person he should be, Justyce writes letters to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The entire book gives readers such an overwhelming (in a great way ), eye opening, intense perspective that I believe Dear Martin should be required reading for every high school student. In fact, I think EVERY ONE should pick this one up immediately. It is such an important read! What is the last book that blew you away? 𝗙𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗛 𝗚𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗬: You can win a copy of Dear Martin today! Review of CeeCee James’ Cookies and Scream - 10 Word Review - Cozy mystery with murder at Revolutionary War reenactment plus cookies! Spoiler Free Review - I love this cozy mystery series so much! This is the second one, and was just the breath of fresh air that I needed. It has murder, history, a slow burn romance, lovable characters, and of course, cookies! What else do you need? Book review 📚this is another book I would recommend to aspiring barristers! Clegg has appeared in some of the best known criminal cases of recent times, so his memoir is an absolute goldmine. I found it particularly interesting to learn how cases were won and lost. As I want to be a barrister myself, I think it’s really important to learn from hugely successful advocates and how they defended some of the most difficult cases. Even if you’re not interested in criminal law, I think there’s something we can all learn from Clegg. And for all the people who ask “how can you defend a guilty person?” - the introduction explains why and how criminal barristers defend those against whom the prosecution evidence seems overwhelming! 👇If you have any other recommendations for me, please do comment below! • • • • • #williamcleggqc #williamclegg #underthewig #bookreviewblogger #bookreviewblog #bookreviewers #bookreviews #bookrecommendations #aspiringlawyer #aspiringbarrister #lawstudent #lawstudents #futurelawyer #ulaw #liveprospectus #universityoflaw #lawgraduate #criminalbarrister #criminallawyers #criminallaw
🐴Stone Hearts by Amber Kelly. This is the follow up to Rustic Hearts and tells the story of Dallas and Myer. . . 👩🏻🦰Dallas returned to her hometown of Poplar Falls, Colorado six years ago- minus her husband and plus a baby boy. She’d married the town rebel straight out of high school and he let her down big time, ending up in jail for laundering money. Dallas is done with men, she just wants to watch her sweet son grow up at home with her family and to make ends meet working two jobs in town. . . 👨🏻🌾Myer Wilson was the town football star who blew out his ankle in college and had to return home to work on his family ranch. Being best friends with Dallas’s brother means he’s become a big part of her life back in Poplar Falls, but is she ready to take their friendship to the next level and let him all the way into her healing heart? . . ✨Dallas and Myer are are good couple, they have great chemistry and are extremely sweet together. . . 🏞I did enjoy this book, just not quite as much as I expected to which was disappointing. Because the characters were already in love with each other it was hard to get fully invested in the story. It would have been cool to have some flashbacks or something to see the exact moment it happened for Myer. I think that would have helped me to connect more with them both. I struggled a bit to get fully into this one, it lacked the pull that book one had for me. I found it too easy to put down. . . 🐴In saying that I did enjoy this. It’s a very sugary sweet story and you need that sometimes. I loved Rustic Hearts and I’ll definitely be reading Wicked Hearts next. . . Stories and books by Africans will always have a big place in my heart because it don't feel like fantasy to me. Every time I read a book written by an African, journalling their life's experiences and growth, I feel like it's a part of me that's been shared. Reading Trevor Noah's 'Born A Crime' was such a ride for me that when someone directed that I read Kevin Hart's book, I quickly reached out to my Tribesmen. 'I Can't Make This Up' by Kevin Hart wasn't just a book that spiraled the life events of a successful black man but one that was very Didactic as well as informative. Kevin killed that book! He openly shared his mistakes, lessons and experiences. We all see the glam now but for the eighteen years he was on the road trying to make sense out of his supposed senseless ambitions, no one knew him. Kevin's story is that of a man that gives up but gets back on. His success story is that of the end results we all want but the road we are unwilling to take. Thanks for telling us the whole truth Kev. Thanks for not holding back on what made you you. I hope I can look back eighteen years from now, all things been equal and I can say the same for myself. Thanks Kev! I loved your truth!
🌟REVIEW🌟 "I thought psychopaths were like Hannibal Lecter it didn't occur to me that they walked the streets among us, just like ordinary people" This book was very slow paced, with a lot of story build up before the actual ending happened. It was also very easy to guess the ending and the twists throughout this book. The ending of this book felt rushed as most of the book had been scene setting and therefore felt very tideous to read through to get to the "exciting" story line. You weren't able to connect very well to the main character as some of her actions seemed somewhat unrealistic for what a regular person would do (but that might just be my opinion ) For me this book was disappointing but I would recommend if you enjoy romance novels as much as thrillers. #bookblogging #bookclubofinstagram #booklover #bookreview #bookreviewers #bookstagram

Snapdragons by Larry Mendelowitz (my uncle! ). Like all children’s books, this one has something to say to us adults too. It speaks to how our thoughts can shape our lives if we give them the power to do so. How our perspective can shift joy to fear or excitement to sadness. How all of the made up stories we tell ourselves can alter our realities. And also…this is a book about flowers and imagination and humor and the beautiful, literal mind of a child. I recommend this book to all big people who remember what it was like to be at only the beginning of understanding the English language, and to all small people with imaginations who are learning new words. #bookstagram #language #learning #picturebook #snapdragons #familyauthors #booksandplants #booksandflowers #hydrangeas #perspective #imaginations #booknerd #booksofinstagram #rhymes #bookrecommendations #bookreview #booklover #kidlit #childrensbooks #picturebooks #flowers #dragons #words #littlehumans #thoughts #flowers #bookreviewers #lionheartwords

So many of Harrison’s paragraphs were eloquent and haunting! • Jules went on a solo-hiking trip two years ago, and never returned. Her friends mourned her, held a funeral, all the while Elise, Jules’s best friend, struggled with the idea of her being gone. But Jules miraculously reappears on the anniversary of her death, claiming to have no memory of the time she was missing. Eager to rekindle their friendship, they plan a girl’s trip to a unique B&B in the Catskills, but the Jules who arrives is not the same person who left two years ago. • Losing your best friend is devastating, having them return as something...else...is both heartbreaking and terrifying. The struggle for Elise to reconnect the Jules in front of her with the girl she made so many memories with is all-too familiar for those who’ve lost a friend, but in Harrison’s novel, it comes with a horrifying twist. 📖📖 #bookloversofinstagram #bookblogger #currentlyreading #literarylife #bookaholic #lovereading #bibliophile #readingchallenge #bookreviewers #booksofig #summerreads #whattoreadnext #bookrecs #bookreviewers #readingcommunity #goodreadschallenge2020 #whattoread #2020reads #horrornovels #readmorehorror #thereturn #rachelharrison #coffeeandbooks

📚Favourite Book Series #1 : ‘You’ by Caroline Kepnes 📚 Although there are a lot of mixed opinions about these series, mainly because of Joe’s irrational logic as a narrator, I really enjoyed both books. The series is dark, sometimes being hard to read because Joe’s obsessive sexual thoughts take over most pages, but that’s the point of the book. The purpose of the series is to see Joe’s serial killing through his eyes, the mislead justifications and his ‘struggles’ don’t make sense to anyone but him. He thinks he’s the victim of circumstance, projecting his issues onto those who are unfortunate enough to encounter him. I would definitely recommend this series! . . . #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #booklover #book #bookseries #booksofinstagram #writer #author #reading #bookreview #readingtime #goodreads #publishing #aspiringpublisher #bookblog #bookreviewblogger #bookreviewers #bookrecommendations #carolinekepnes #you #youseries #pennbadgley #bookmark

Read anything good lately? We’ve certainly been doing a lot of reading during lockdown! Katie has compiled the Top 5 Lockdown Reads for all you bookworms out there: LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE, Celeste Ng 4/5 ⭐️ Yes, a hit Prime series, but also a great book. A simple story on the outside, but full of deep questions on race, equality, belonging, and motherhood. If you loved the drama you are sure to love the book! QUEENIE, Candice Carty-Williams 3.5/5 ⭐️ This book has become popular through the BLM movement. It shows the complexities of race and identity through the eyes of Queenie, who is neither fully Caribbean nor British, and struggles to find her true self. UNIRTHODOX, Deborah Feldman 4.5/5 ⭐️ An honest and open account of one woman’s journey from Brooklyn, New York, to Berlin as she flees her Jewish Orthodox community. It is raw and real, and will undoubtedly bring a tear to your eye as Feldman discovers a whole new world, and herself along the way. The Netflix series is loosely based on the book. THE NOCTURNAL BRAIN, Dr Guy Leschziner 4/5 ⭐️ A fascinating insight into the workings of our brain, and Dr Leschziner makes the sleep science accessible and interesting. Be warned, you will be diagnosing yourself with every sleep disorder! DRIVING OVER LEMONS, Chris Stewart 4.5/5 ⭐️ A gentle and heart-warming memoir of Stewart’s relocation to the Andalusian foothills to become a sheep farmer. A cohort of extravagant neighbours make this book surprisingly funny and without a dull moment. Check out the full review on our website www.newproductsreviewd.com, link in bio. #bookstareviewweek Review No. 3 In order to avoid spoilers, this review will be short, sweet and in list format. After reading Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas, I am still not sold on the entire Throne of Glass series. 𝗠𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲𝘀: * Celaena is still a straight up bada** * The love triangle between Celaena, Chaol and Dorian rings true for teenagers with one bowing out or two forcing one to chose. * The theme of friendship between Calaena and Nehemia / Chaol and Dorian is awesome. * For a bit, Celaena felt happy. 𝗠𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲𝘀: * It's a slow moving plot until about 2/3rds into the book. * It doesn't feel like a true SJM book yet. * If it wasn't for #houseofGOTandtiktoks (that’s our buddy read group ), I probably would have quit the series by now. But it gets better or so I am told (I am holding you to it @mommaleighellensbooknook ). Plus the ending is pretty explosive. Therefore, I shall continue..... Have you read the TOG series? Do you have a favorite SJM series?

Home Before Dark by Riley Sager is the first book I have ever read written by him. The hype behind the author’s work does not disappoint. I love how Sager’s writing is smooth. My mind was effortlessly capivated with his ability to keep the suspense alive by including several creepy and haunting characteristics like a glowing chandelier. I love how the plot is reminiscent of Shirley Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House. There is such an eerie, spooky undertone to the entire book that I, a huge fan of Hill House, was delighted. I will forever be checking my coffee mug before I take a sip. However, the ending falls a bit flat. It feels as if there are too many questions left open. I would have like for a few conversations to be hammered instead of glossed over. There are a few more reasons too but I don’t want to spoil it! Kicking of my #bookstareviewweek with 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙀𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙚 𝘽𝙡𝙪𝙚 by Lia Louis. Special thanks to @netgalley and @atriabooks for the advance copy! Dear Emmie Blue by Lia Louis is the quintessential feel good book of the summer. It is so crazy charming that my heart just melts thinking about it. Emmie’s story is filled to the brim with heartache caused by an absentee, narcissistic mother, an unknown father and an educational system that let her down many years ago. She’s also in love with her best friend, Lucas who is engaged to another woman. Unrequited love can be nervy at times, but Louis handles it so well with her wonderful writing. Throughout her lonely life, Emmie Blue remains positive. She begins to learn to create her own happiness. She believes in the world and all its possibilities. She has faith that everything works out for a reason. She’s loyal to herself and her friends to a fault even when no one “chooses” her. Her braveness and selflessness will make readers route for Emmie even more. Why? Because Emmie Blue is made of the good stuff. Dear Emmie Blue is a story of fate and friendship. It is a love story, a story of life and a definite read for anyone who needs a little inspiration. CW: Sexual abuse 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙀𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙚 𝘽𝙡𝙪𝙚 releases TOMORROW! Get your copy ASAP!

R E V I E W T I M E: 3.5/5 ☕️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So I started this book knowing it was originally written for the stage, so I was prepared for a different style of writing - and I think everyone needs to have this in their mind when they do too. This helped me understand the dialogue heavy text and the centralised setting - if anything I really want to see it on stage now! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What I thought was going to be a meh kind of read (it’s pretty short coming at just over 200 pages ) actually exceeded my expectations. BTCGC is a novel about the Cafe Funiculi Funicula in the back streets of Tokyo that has the ability to send its customers time travelling. The four chapters are dedicated to four trips and I was taken back by how much Kawaguchi seamlessly merges the characters lives together but dives deep into all of their family pasts. The novel goes beyond the coffee shop but explores relationships, motherhood, death and marriage. Although resting on some heavy themes, it turned out to be a lighthearted and wholesome story that weaves together these families around the joy the coffee shop brings. As a sci-fi/fantasy obsessive reader, I was expecting more in terms of the time travelling genre, but as it was adapted from the stage and it’s focused more on the lives within the shop this balances out. So don’t expect an in depth exploration of what it means to time travel, but a lighthearted and quick read on a very unique coffee shop with some very unique rules. I understand why some reviews on Goodreads were disappointed as the text is very simple/to the point, but the plot and ending really make the novel instead! I’m excited to read more translated texts, especially as I loved the insight into Japanese culture! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✨If you’ve read this what were your thoughts? I feel like this is the perfect book to get someone back into reading as it only took me two sittings! ✨
Meet the bookstagramer I have yet to post a picture of my face so, I feel like it’s time. I appreciate everyone that follows and supports me and I figured I would tell you all a little about myself. 🌼I grew up in Alaska in a very small town. I was raised with farm animals and have ridden horses my entire life. I am a huge animal lover! My family never said no to a rescue. 🌼I absolutely love the ocean but, I cannot swim. 🌼I started this page because, I moved to the Seattle area and making friends was pretty much impossible. I figured if I did something I love then I would meet people who I would enjoy talking to. 🌼I am almost 30, married and have two sweet little boys. One is five and the other is two. They also love reading. 🌼I have one dog and five hermit crabs here in Washington. Back in Alaska I have the sweetest little pony in the world. 🌼I love being outside adventuring! I was also a gym rat before Covid. I’m still doing my best to get in workouts when I can and when I can’t I go on a walk somewhere in this beautiful state. 🌼Coffee is life. I was a barista for ten years in Alaska and I just recently got another barista position. 🌼 When it comes to books, I like them scary! I also love a good thriller. That’s a little bit about myself. Thank you to all the awesome friends I’ve made so far!

Forget about my review, no matter who you are just read this damn book!! . "What we talk about when we talk about rape". . Where do I begin? A colourful bright book on a dark subject!. . .Sohaila Abdulali, a sexual assault survivor herself at such a young age, presents in this book a nuanced discussion of rape and all the assumptions that we bring to such a discussion. It starts with the confusion in which genre this book should be included in, and I was hooked right there. . .The word, rape, is always met with apprehension. People struggle to acknowledge the word. People flinch at the word. People hear this word in the news almost every week. People would rather say nothing than acknowledge the existence of such a confronting, vile occurrence - very much a reality for many. In what can only be described as nothing short of saddening and heartbreaking, Abdulali takes the reader on a journey. Her journey. And the journey of others who have experienced sexual assault and rape. . By telling her own story, as well as providing a voice for the experiences and stories of others, Abdulali gives, what may be a sceptical and critical audience, an insight into the lives of rape victims. She speaks to the potential mindset of a rapist, and factors that are at play when they are about to do what they do. She speaks to the roads of recovery on which different rape victims travel, acknowledging that no one road is the same, even where intersections exist. She acknowledges the reality that victims are not only women, but also men, and individuals who identify as LGBTIQA+. I cannot begin to empathise with what a rape victim goes through, but I imagine that this read would act as a form of solace to some - in alerting victims, all victims, that they are not alone. This is something for everyone to read. For individuals - this may help you navigate a sensitive situation with a friend or family member. Continue in comments👇

Let’s talk Canadian literature. 🇨🇦 I am currently reading: Small Game Hunting and the Local Coward Gun Club. This Canadian novel is set in St. John’s Newfoundland over the course of one day from the perspective of many intertwined characters. I am about halfway through and it is dark, raw and emotional. Coles touches on areas of abuse, addiction, race and manipulation in a very honest and humane way. I’ve decided to read as many Canadian authors as I can this summer and I’m glad to have picked this one up. As a Canadian I find it quite a novelty when I read about places that are familiar to my own life, even if it paints my hometown as a violent, frozen place to live. I love you Winnipeg and I’m going to keep reading until I find a book that agrees with me.
🌊The house in the cerulean sea🌊 I honestly had no idea what this book was about before I read it but @poursandpages & @lit .with.lo picked it for a JLO reads book so I knew I had to read it! • The house in the cerulean sea follows Linus, a case worker for DICOMY, who is sent to a house containing six “dangerous” magical youth. We get to know (and love ) the six children as well as their caretaker, Arthur. • While this book was quite predictable, it was also super heartwarming and a reminder of how prominent prejudice is throughout our society. I also loved the LGTBQ representation in the book! A solid 4 star read for me! I enjoyed the way this book was written but my only complaint was that it was a bit too long! Not an instant favourite but one I would definitely recommend💛 • This was definitely different from books I normally read, what was the last book you read from a genre you normally shy away from?
As @do_kitabi_keede celebrates two years today, we thought it would be fun for us - the bookworms to come out of our wormholes to say Hi! This is us - the do kitabi keede. School mates, fellow lit grads, co B-School sell outs, corporate slaves in arms, home mates & partner bookworms. Some would say we've known each other a while! Books we'd read (& hadn't ) had formed the basis of our friendship on a rickety classroom bench over a decade ago and soon they became the education we got together. Rummaging for books in college libraries, streets of Connaught Place and Daryaganj, the annual bookfair in Pragati Maidan, the uppity Khan Market bookstores, literature festivals and now, regularly at Church Street (not just Blossoms but also Bookworm ), has become a necessary part of our lives. In this period, we've made an impolite habit of debating on characters and plots rather animatedly in many a public place! Two years ago, a long ramble about what we should read next and what we liked last, led to the idea of penning down what we thought of what we read - here - on Instagram. We thought we'd argue less & be more constructive with our opinions this way (turns out it's true! ) And here we are! 2 years & 108 posts is a result of not just devouring books but also pausing to reflect on what they made us feel and how, editing one another's reviews honestly and bluntly, and seeking the elusive joy of a satisfying picture! A lot of debates, keeping our reviews crisp, spoiler free & non-judgemental, and steering clear of star ratings/page counts are a few hallmarks we will always seek to uphold. Thank you so much for pausing to read us gush, ramble & rant on this tiny corner of the internet. You all are the sunshine that keeps us going! 😊 We're also eternally grateful for the gems of book recommendations & reviews that you've shared with us ❤️ #bookstragram #bookbloggersofinstagram #bookreviewers #igreaders #reviewers
